Nationwide Illicit Drug Testing

Safety Services Management (SSM) provides illicit drug testing for vehicles and properties across the lower 48 states (except New York) and Hawaii. A trained local technician collects samples on site and ships them to SSM. SSM analyzes every sample on our MX908 mass spectrometer and sends you the report. In our local network turnaround is faster; elsewhere we arrange sample collection with extra time.

What we test.
Vehicle test
Standard or Enhanced
An 8-point inspection sampling approximately 65+ touch points per vehicle, including the headliner, HVAC when accessible, and HVAC sampling inside the ducts when accessible, plus any suspicious items.
Property test
Based on bedrooms, bathrooms and garages
We sample vertical surfaces in each room (walls and doors) and horizontal surfaces (tabletops, countertops, cabinet shelves and floors), plus any suspicious items.
Optional add-on: accredited sample analysis on request. We recommend a minimum of three samples plus one field blank; if you only want to verify the MX908 results, one sample is sufficient. If your estimate includes laboratory analysis, we will send those samples to an accredited laboratory.
Turnaround.
Covered across the lower 48 (except New York) and Hawaii. Only the turnaround changes.

Cleaning and sample collection locations
Every cleaning location also collects samples. Where cleaning is restricted in the vehicle’s home state, vehicles can be transported for cleaning to one of these locations.

25 sample-collection locations: SSM in Diamond Bar, CA plus 22 local partners in 24 cities. 8 of these locations also offer vehicle cleaning. A trained local technician collects samples on site and ships them to SSM, and SSM analyzes them on our MX908.
