Nationwide Illicit Drug Testing

Safety Services Management (SSM) provides illicit drug testing for vehicles and properties across the United States. Request a quote from anywhere in the country: within our local network, a trained local technician performs the testing on site, and elsewhere we arrange on-site testing with extra time. Our standard service is on-site field screening with an MX908 handheld mass spectrometer, documented in an SSM report.

How it works

1. Request a quote. Tell us where the vehicle or property is and what needs testing.

2. On-site testing. A local technician trained on SSM's testing process performs on-site field screening with an MX908 handheld mass spectrometer.

3. SSM report. SSM technicians collect all samples on site, and SSM analyzes the samples and produces your report.

SSM trains subcontractors nationwide on its testing process, so every job follows the same testing and reporting steps.

What we test

Vehicle test ($2,400; Enhanced $2,900). An 8-point inspection testing approximately 65+ touch points per vehicle, including the headliner, HVAC when accessible, and HVAC sampling inside the ducts when accessible, plus any suspicious items.

Property test (from $2,600). We test vertical surfaces in each room (walls and doors) and horizontal surfaces (tabletops, countertops, cabinet shelves and floors), plus any suspicious items. The $2,600 minimum covers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom; each additional bedroom, bathroom or garage adds $200.

Optional add-on: accredited laboratory testing is available on request. The first lab sample is $750, and each additional sample and the field blank are $250 each (for example, 1 sample is $750; 3 samples are $1,250; 3 samples plus 1 blank are $1,500). Standard lab turnaround is 14 days. For laboratory testing, field blanks are recommended; we recommend a minimum of three samples plus one blank. If you only want a laboratory test to verify the MX908 results, one sample is sufficient. If your estimate includes laboratory analysis, we will send those samples to an accredited laboratory.

Turnaround

Results are typically ready in approx. 3 business days within about 75 miles of Yorba Linda, CA, and in approx. 5 business days within our local network. Outside the local network, allow approx. 10 business days. Business days exclude weekends and holidays. Turnaround times are estimates and can vary with location and scheduling.
